New iPhone Panorama

I'm totally in love with the new panorama setting on my iPhone. iOS6 has been good to me! Here's two images of a nice night Thomas and I spent with my parents at the Oceanside Pier here in lovely Oceanside, California. These photos are unedited and straight out of my pocket. Amazing!

What happened this week?

I found this creature in my bathtub! No thank you. Sir, I said, NO THANK YOU! I really don't mind spiders in the wild, I find their webs fascinating and their colors incredible. But don't go moving in to my home. This is my home, you make your home beyond the doors of this home. We work on a catch and release program so this giant, non-poisonous spider got scooped up and escorted outside to some nice cushy ice plant. Then I found another one on the sofa. I didn't sleep well that night.

I did some knitting on the deck. This is some kind of short sleeve sweater idea I'm having. I'm not sure if the knitting will turn into a pattern I like or not but I suppose that's the plight of any designer, knitting or otherwise. This little sweater will be for Ewe Ewe when it's complete. What's better than some Wooly Worsted merino yarn? Not much! I'm also sipping a Maker's and 7 here. Delicious. 

One dog did a weak job of guarding us from the hallway.

The other didn't bother at all and slept under the sofa.

I learned to surf!

Ok, well I was taught some surfing skills by this cute girl named Grace. We know the family through my knitting group and were at their new beach home for a party. Grace decided to go hit the waves and somehow I agreed to give it a try! I borrowed one of her wetsuits and a big soft board and took off down the steps. The waves were mild and the tide was going out so the whole experience was fun and mellow. We stayed in the water for about a half an hour. I caught a couple belly rides, turned the board back to the sunset and paddled out again. I managed to get up to my knees and had a ton of fun. Thanks, Grace!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to my Mom and my Mummy! I think my mother and my mother-in-law are my two biggest blog readers, commenters and fans. They both love looking at the photos from my garden and we always end up talking about plants on any given phone call. I've learned a lot about gardening from both of them and I know my garden wouldn't be half of what it is without their passed on knowledge. So cheers to the two mothers in my life, I love you both!
